In response to the Covid-19 crisis, Airbus will be laying of 15,000 employees around the world, no later than summer 2021.
In May this year, Airbus recorded no new aircraft sales.
Most positions will be cut off in following countries (these cuts also include Airbus subsidiaries) :
- Germany: 5,100 positions
- France: 5,000 positions
- United Kingdom: 1,700 positions
- Other worldwide sites: 1,300 positions
- Spain: 900 positions
Airbus is working to provide voluntary departure, early retirement, and long-term partial unemployment schemes.
