We try to update the list as fast as possible when changes occur. If you see that a flight is missing, we highly appreciate your feedback. (last update 02JAN24)

Warning, the following information is not binding in any way. Qatar Airways can change flight equipment at any given time without further notice, for example if an aircraft is out of service or for any other reason. As you booked a business class flight, you will of course be in business class, but without QSUITES.

According to an old Twitter message from Qatar Airways, you may in that case rebook your flight or get a refund.

“If the change to non-Qsuite is verified, you are entitled to

1) one-time free change (+/- 21 days of the original date; new origin or destination within the same country or 500-mile radius from the original origin or destination);

and 2) refund without the cancellation fee“

1. Qatar Airways Qsuite routes with flight number

Some destinations listed below are not operated every day by planes with a QSUITE cabin.

By clicking on the flight number you will be redirected to planefinder.net where you can see the last flights for the last 7 days with registration number, for that corresponding flight.

You may then compare those registration numbers with our Qsuite by registration number list, to see how often that route is operated by an airplane with a Qsuite and Qsuite 2.0 cabin.

 

These flights are always to/from Doha, as with exception to only a few, all Qatar Airways flights are flown via Doha.

2. How to check if a Qatar Airways flight offers the Qsuites?

All of Qatar Airways new Airbus A350-1000 and numerous A350-900s offer QSuites in Business Class. Many Boeing 777-300ER and 777-200LR of Qatar Airways are meanwhile also equipped with Qsuites.

The way you can check if an aircraft has the QSuite Business Class cabin is from the seat map. We use ExpertFlyer to check the seat maps, but SeatGuru works as well.

This is the seat map you need to look out for, in this example, from a 777-300er.

  • If the seat map is showing a 1-2-1 cabin layout, like this….

…then the flight will be operated with a QSuite cabin.

  • On the other hand, if the seat map is showing a 2-2-2 cabin layout like this….

…then you’re looking at an older model Business Class cabin and NOT the QSuite cabin.

The A350-900 and 777-200LR Business Class cabins will also look very similar to the image above if they offer the QSuite product.

 

3. How many Qatar Airways planes are equipped with Qsuites?

  • Airbus A350-1000: 24 of 24
  • Airbus A350-900: 10 of 33
  • Boeing 777-200LR: 7 of 9
  • Boeing 777-300ER: 38 of 48
  • Boeing 787-9: 9 of 9

The Boeing 787-9 has a different Qsuite cabin, also called Qsuite 2.0 by some people.  The seats are arranged in a herringbone pattern, in a 1-2-1 configuration, and each suite has as well direct aisle access with a sliding door. The 2 seats in the middle can be transformed as a double bed.

Following routes are planned for the 787-9: Athens, Barcelona, Dammam, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid and Milan

5. Book Qsuite award space using miles

Qatar Airways is a Oneworld member, that gives you a few choices for using airline miles to book a flight with Qatar Airways and their Qsuite.

Below a few good examples on how you can fly with Qsuites and how many miles/avios you would need for a flight. Of course many other routes are available, we just like to show you a few examples where you don’t have to use 100,000s miles.

British Airways Avios:

British Airways award chart is distance-based, if a distance increases only by a few miles you will have to spend a lot more avios. Therefore, you need to know which airport to choose so that it still makes sense to buy a ticket with avios.

  • Munich to Doha 38,750 Avios (off season) + 282.91€ for a one-way flight, or 77,500 Avios (off season) + 520.40€ for a return flight.

American Airlines AAdvantage:

  • Doha to Europe: 42,500 miles for a one-way flight, or 85,000 miles for a return flight.
  • Doha to the US: 70,000 miles for a one-way flight, 140,000 miles for a return flight.
  • Doha to Australia: 80,000 miles for a one-way flight, 160,000 miles for a return flight.

    I saw that the planes A7-BBD and A7-BBE were stored!

    I don’t know if they will operate with Qatar again, but I don’t think so. Sad because they had the setup with Q-Suite. They should have stored the A7-BBF and the A7-BBH.

    You do get the occasional Q-Suite even on not mentioned Routes. I flew JNB-DOH on 28. February. Was advertised as Q Suite and I got Q suite. However it was the only flight in +-2 months advertised as Q suite too.

    Flying QR743, DOH-BOS A350-900 on March 19. Booked as q-suite and now the seat map has changed. I understand that the current seat map displayed could still technicaly be q-suite, but it no longer is staggered on Expert flyer or the QR website. Didn’t get any emails. Any info you could give?

      That flight will have the Qsuites. The only way to check is to take a look at the seatmap when you book your flight, or use Expertflyer (not free).
      I’ve added it to the list now.
      When you click on the flight number you will have an overview from the last flights with registration numbers, you can compare numbers with the list in the post.
      At the moment, that flight is operated by an A350, starting May by a 777.

        Thanks, I’m flying this flight in May. When you say it will have Q-suites does this mean that Qatar tries everything possible to use the 7 77Ls on this route and not swap out at the last minute? Or still a chance it gets swapped out at the last minute. When that happens how do they deal with seat changes?

          It’s all in the post ;).
          The listed routes are the one that are regularly operated by Qsuite equipped planes, as written click on the flight number and you can compare with the registrations in the post. But, unfortunately on some routes Qatar Airways tend to swap planes at last minute, for many reasons.
          According to an old X (Twitter) message from Qatar Airways, you may in that case rebook your flight or get a refund.

    First of all thank you for your post and your amazing job!
    Writing as I have one question: I am about to book a flight from Doha to Hanoi on the 19th of October. On the Qatar website it does not say “QSuite” but I see the airplane is a Boeing 787-9.
    Does this mean it has the QSuite? I am speaking about QR982 departing from Doha at 19.55 on Oct 19.

      The 787-9 do have a “different” Qsuite, that’s why the website does not say Qsuite. But all 787-9 have that Qsuite “2.0”, it is very similar to the “original” Qsuite.

      The only thing you can do is check the last flights between ORD and DOH, if that route was operated by 100% by qsuites, chances are high that Qatar Airways do not often change planes on that route. If the route was only operated 50% of the time by qsuites, well then chances are much higher for aircraft swaps.

    I just booked Chicago to Doha and Doha to Bangkok in Business Class. The flight from Doha to Bangkok is an A330-300. The reservation is showing this plane as Qsuites on both the outbound to Bangkok and return to Doha? The ticket is for January 18th 2024.
    Did Qatar change their minds and decided to equip their A330’s with Qsuites?

    It seems in August 2023, you can book a qsuite flight to Narita Airport (Tokyo-Japan) on their A350-1000 airplane. I was planning to trip around then and wanted to confirm this is possible?

    I just returned from Cairo and my flight there was a 777 300 A7-BAI (Qsuites), but on the way back it was A7-BAL (2-2-2)they changed it the night before departure. 🙁

    They are now offering Q-suites on Doha – Atlanta – Doha (QR-755/6) w.e.f. 31 March… any idea if they are getting new aircrafts for the same of have they changed configuration on any of the older ones?

    Also the count of the 777 300ER on the Qatar website is showing as 54 and not 48.
