Business Class Deal: Italy or Oslo – Round the World 3995€

Round the World fare in Business Class with Star Alliance members.

In 2022, we’ve posted a similar deal from Paris, with prices under 3000eur, sadly that fare isn’t available anymore, but this one from Italian airports and Oslo is not bad. It’s the cheapest option for a round the world trip in business class with departure in Europe.

The old deal from Paris that we’ve published in 2022 and posted by us on Flyertalk, has meanwhile over 255k views. Here’s a link to that post with many ideas of what is/was possible, but as well a lot of off-topic discussions.

Available Routing Options

At each of the listed destinations, you may stay a few days/weeks.

  • In Oceania, the cheapest destination is Auckland. Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane work as well for a bit more.
  • In Asia, you can choose from Bangkok, Seoul, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai or Beijing
  • In North America, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto…

The starting and arriving point in Oceania or North America doesn’t have to be the same.

Two examples:

  • You may fly to Auckland and then continue from Sydney. In that case, you need to buy an additional separate ticket from Auckland to Sydney.
  • You may fly to Las Vegas, and continue from San Francisco or Los Angeles.

It doesn’t matter if you start your trip via the West or via the East first.

How to Book

These fares have to be booked via OTA’s like Expedia for some routing you may book directly via the Lufthansa website as well.

Below you can find a few examples with links and prices. If you’d like to book one of these deals, you just need to change to your desired dates.

Trips marked with /*, means that you have to buy an extra separate ticket between the two destinations.

(sometimes prices need some time to show up, and for some unknown reasons prices will not always be shown correctly on your mobile)

Flights below start and end in Milan.

(Rome, Bologna or Venice sometimes work as well.)

  • Tokyo → Auckland → San Francisco 3995€

  • Hong Kong → Auckland → Vancouver 3995€

  • Los Angeles → Auckland → Singapore 4225€

  • San Francisco → Auckland → Bangkok 4200€

  • San Francisco → Auckland → Singapore 4550€

  • Tokyo → Auckland → Los Angeles 4695€

  • Hong Kong→ Sydney→ Los Angeles 4350€

  • Singapore → Auckland/*Sydney → San Francisco 4630€

You can also skip North America, and add a second destination in Asia for the flight back “home”.

  • Tokyo→ Auckland → Singapore 4010€

Or you can skip Asia.

  • Vancouver→ Auckland → San Francisco 4010€

Flights below start and end in Oslo.

  • Tokyo → Auckland → San Francisco 4465€

  • Hong Kong → Auckland → Vancouver 4490€

  • Singapore → Auckland → San Francisco 4660€

  • Los Angeles → Auckland → Singapore 4680€

  • San Francisco → Auckland → Bangkok 4500€

Travel Dates

We’ve found availability in 2024.

Hi, is Flysmarter.de a trustworthy website? Anyone booked through it before?
Using the above links I’ve only got the option to book through Flysmarter.de. via Momondo.
Unfortunately Expedia isn’t an option until a month’s time when they open up flight bookings for Aug 2024, which somehow is available on flysmarter.de…
    Thanks in adv!

Hi, I am interested in the route MXP-Tokyo-Auckland-LAX-Toronto-MXP. Unfortunately, I cannot enter it directly into the Lufthansa search engine (I tried the application and different browsers). It always gives me the error that it is not possible to fly from MXP and book online. Otherwise, I want to confirm that in March my friend and I bought MXP-SFO-SYD-BKK-MXP directly from Lufthansa for 3300 EUR business. It was cheaper than Momondo and now we are on our way. I made the reservation in March without any problems. Could you help me, now. Thanks Justina

    • premiumflights

Hello, the fare was cheaper some months ago, prices are now over 4000€.
I’ve checked with Lufthansa, and indeed you cannot enter MXP or Milan at the moment. The Lufthansa website has quite often bugs, you could try in a few days again or book with Expedia for example.

  • Andy

Hey There thanks for posting this, can they originating flight start from Auckland?
I am thinking AKL-SIN-MXP Then return. Or maybe add USA.? Thanks

  • Kevin

Heya I came to realise that this deal only applicable for 3rd party booking site (e.g., Seat24). How credible are they? I saw on TrustPilot and their rating is pretty bad..

  • Thomas Corthals

Any Deal from europe to Australia or auckland in october 2023 .
I tried to book the deal departing from italy but no longer available .

    Thanks ,
    Tom

    • premiumflights

There should be some dates available from Italy, but maybe nothing in October.

Paris to Sydney seems to be the cheapest in October link

  • Susan

    hello,
is it possible to book only the starting date and end date? Then during the 12 months time window, i can freely select where in each continent and what date to fly within? if so, how can I get a fixed price or price range?
    thank you.

  • Brandon

Can you help me find something that starts before thanksgiving that includes NYC as a destination after thanksgiving. Thanks

  • Gary

I’m a newbie, so please bear with me. Can one fly to all of these cities on these continents, or only one per continent? thanks

    • premiumflights

You can add cities on the same continent, but it’s harder to find good prices in that case. Usually the price will go up by a few 100€, but not always. We’ve added an example below for 3450€ Milan-Tokyo-Auckland-Los Angeles-Toronto-Milan.

  • Heiko Rolfs

I am interessed in the flight from Milan to Los Angeles, Auckland, Singapore and back to Milan in January 24. possible?

    • premiumflights

Yes that is possible, we did a quick search and came up with a price of 3950€. If you play around with the dates a bit, the price might even come down a bit. Here’s a LINK with dates in January.

  • Suphat

    Hi dear team
Can we start from BKK Thailand to Europe >> Auckland >> USA >> BKK ?
We need to start from Paris or not
    looking forward for your advice

  • Sanela

Hi guys! Thank you first for this amazing website!

My husband and i would love to book this special around the world ticket. We are very flexible with our travel time. But i cant find any “cheap” offer for november or december. We would like to fly for example this route: Paris-San Francisco or any other in the US – Auckland -Bangkok-Paris. Can you help us ? Thank you so much!!

        • premiumflights

It seems that prices are a bit higher now to Bangkok in November and December.
You can find for your route for your dates prices for around, 3480€ per person. Which is still a good deal for a round the world ticket in biz class, but higher than before.

Here’s a LINK for your dates.

  • CHRISTIAN MONCEAU

    Hi dear team.
You coul book with airlines (LX) via google flight.
You will pay 50€ more tha OTA but if you have a change or a cancellation – ie for COVID- you could easiy doing with airlines free of charge.
Via OTA you will pay around 50€ per change….
Once I had to book cheaper ticket on OTA but they charge me 50 US$ for a cancellation. They gave me only Airport taxes. BTW the Aiirline could refund me with no charge….

    • premiumflights

      Hi,
thx for the hint. But it really depends on the OTA, we have had some good experience with Expedia during Covid. We got all the money back, much faster than with Swiss for example where we have booked a ticket as well.

      • Christian Monceau

        Hi again.
Expédia refund you with no fées ? Générally OTA s fées for refund or change are about 50US$…
Btw this post is à very good fare for à business class RTW.

        • premiumflights

Yes, Expedia refunded without fees during Covid.
And this December we had another trip booked with them for 5 persons, 2 became sick and couldn’t fly. So we called them the day before our departure to inform them that 2 could not fly, the fare was non-refundable, but Expedia said without asking that they would refund us the taxes for the 2 persons who couldn’t take the flight.
We had this situation once with Lufthansa, we missed the flight, we asked for a tax refund, and it was a long story until we got it back.
I know that many people had bad experience with Expedia, but we have had good experiences with Expedia Belgium and Germany.
