Cathay Dragon, the regional carrier of Cathay Pacific will receive its first A321neo with new business class seats.
The first two A321neo aircraft are planned to go into operation around October this year.
Delivery of the new A321neos
The business class seat is not revolutionary especially due to the fact that many airlines are operating fully flat business class seats for regional flights.
Due to the Covid-19 situations, it is yet unknown which routes will be served by their new A321neo.
In 2022, an additional four A321neo and 10 more will complete the fleet after 2022.
The new business class seat
The new business class seats will be in a 2-2 configuration over 3 rows, giving Cathay Dragon 12 business class seats in each aircraft.
The seats are recliner only, meaning that you cannot convert them into a lie flat seat, unlike Singapore Airlines which will equip their new regional airline with lie flat seats.
In terms of economy class, there will be 190 seats in each aircraft in a 3-3 configuration.
Bottom Line
Despite not a game changer in regional business class, especially within Asia, the seat will be far superior to regional business class within Europe where a blocked middle seat is the only comfort you will get.
