Date announced: Alaska Airlines joins oneworld in six months

After many announcements, Alaska has finally set a date and will join the oneworld alliance on March 31, 2021.

This is great news as probably there will be more ways for redemptions like avios.

It will be very interesting to see when Alaska will make award flights available for other programs and vice versa.

Below the official statement of Alaska Airlines:

Decisions that are made for future success and stability, and to provide increased service and a better travel experience for its customers. oneworld offers us those opportunities,” said Nat Pieper, Alaska’s senior vice president of fleet, finances and alliances.

“We are officially joining a family with some of the best airlines in the world. The possibilities are tremendous.”
