Flight review: Austrian Airlines Business Class Boeing 777-200

We had the pleasure of flying with Austrian Airlines in Business Class from Vienna to Los Angeles on their Boeing 777-200.

Boarding

The boarding process was organized and hassle-free, with a dedicated check-in counter for business class passengers.

Flight

Unfortunately, the flight did not offer Wi-Fi, which is becoming standard on most major airlines.

Amenities

The amenity kit provided everything that you would expect from a standard kit, although it wasn’t particularly special. You can take a look at the pictures below to see what was included.

Seats

Austrian Airlines’ Business Class seats on the 777-200 are arranged in a 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 configuration, similar to SWISS Business Class. However, the seats on Austrian Airlines are more comfortable and offer sufficient storage space to pack your belongings, though the storage is not generous.

While the seats themselves are of high quality, they do not provide much privacy, which could be a drawback if you prefer to avoid conversation with strangers. For a fee of 189€, you can reserve a “Privacy Seat” similar to the “throne seat” on other airlines, but it may not offer significantly more privacy.

The provided pillows and bed cover were soft and cozy. The entertainment screens were of adequate size and quality, and the included noise-cancelling headphones work well.

Food & Drinks

Austrian Business class hits the mark when it comes to food. With a kitchen chef on board, they offer one of the best culinary experiences in business class. The appetizers and cheese selection presented on a tray are excellent, and they even have a dedicated menu for every type of coffee you can think of. Sadly, pictures cannot do justice to how delicious the food tastes.

Service

Throughout the flight, the service provided in Austrian Business class was exemplary – friendly, professional, and with no negative experiences to report.

Conclusion

Austrian Airlines’ business class product is highly competitive, offering delicious food and excellent service. While there are some airlines with more spacious and private seats, overall, Austrian Airlines provides a great business class experience.
