Review: Conrad Seoul

Review Conrad Seoul. We booked the Conrad Seoul during a 50% Hilton flash sale for an excellent value. We opted in for a King bed city view executive room and due to our gold status we received an upgrade to a King bed premium executive river view room, free breakfast and a small welcome cake.

Location

The Conrad Seoul is located on the Yeouido Island. It has a direct connection to the IFC Mall, a subway station can be reached via the mall and the Yeouido park is just a couple of meters away.

Rooms

Our room was very spacious, with a King bed, a couch and a working desk. The rooms are very modern and have a luxurious interior. The bathroom is very spacious, with a separate toilet, separate bathtub and a separate walk-in shower. Even a TV is embedded into the mirror. All amenities you need are provided in the room and our view from the 24th floor was just outstanding. You can say that our room was simply perfect.

Food and Drinks

We had breakfast several times in their restaurant. The selection is huge, a big variety of all kind of dishes can be found here. One problem was that on one day it became really crowded, so it took forever to get some coffee from a waitress and it was a challenge to reach the desired spot of the buffet. Another day we were seated at a different room with only a small selection of the buffet available because the main restaurant was really crowded. We had access to the big buffet but you litererally had to walk 100 meters to reach that room. However we have to say that everything was refilled in time on the main buffet.

We also had buffet dinner once at the restaurant. The selection is big there as well and a lot of high quality food was served. However some dishes were rather cold already as not too many people were present at the restaurant at that time.

Their executive lounge is located on the last floor, and during the evening canapes, more than enough snacks were available and all kind of soft drinks as well as spirits. Try to grab a seat near the window as the view is outstanding here as well.

Other services

They have a big fitness room where every imaginable fitness equipment is available. They also have a nice indoor pool and a beautiful spa. We booked a massage at their spa and we were not disappointed. The therapists definitely knew what they were doing and if you happen to stay here, we can highly recommend treating yourself with a massage.

 

 

Staff

At the reception, everyone was really friendly. The concierge also did an astonishing job as we had a few questions and those were answered to our full satisfaction. The female concierge even took our post cards and stamped them by herself. In their executive lounge more than enough staff was available and everyone is very friendly.

Not so pleasant was our experience with the staff at their restaurant. On one morning it took forever to get some coffee (this might have been because the place was very crowded and not enough space was available), and during our dinner we left the table to get some food and when we came back the table was completely cleaned, our full glasses of drinks removed, even if some of our stuff was still present. That was rather odd, at least they apologized and brought us new drinks.

Conclusion

The Conrad Seoul is definitely a luxury hotel and every aspect feels that way. Our room was beautiful and the quality of their food is impressive. Other services like the Spa are astonishing. The only downside was our experience with the staff at the restaurant and the crowded breakfast room on one day. Nevertheless, we can definitely recommend this hotel if you want to explore Seoul and stay in a very nice hotel.
