Location & Access

Avianca VIP Lounge is in the J Concourse in Miami South Terminal. The lounge is upstairs, next to the LATAM lounge and you can use the escalators or elevator.

You get access to the lounge when travelling in business or first class on Avianca or on Star Alliance partner, or with a Priority Pass. The lounge accepts walk-ins as well for a 60$ fee payable at the front desk, based on capacity.

Food & Drinks

We visited the lounge after we already had a meal at the airport, as we did not read that many good things about the food here. In the lounge we had a quick look on the food, and it really didn’t looked very tasty.

The choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks was OK for a lounge.

Seating options

The lounge was very crowded, unpleasantly crowded. Luckily a group of people just left the quiet room when we arrived, so we found some seats in there. There are a lot of seating options in the lounge, but not enough for the people who have access.

“Quiet” Room, temperature in the room was way to cold and the air conditioning blew the cold air right on the seats.

Other services

There are no showers in this lounge, the restrooms are pretty small and not super clean. A working area is provided.

I took the photo of the working area when I saw that people were leaving it, 5 minutes later it was crowded again.

Conclusion

It wasn’t a pleasant stay in this lounge. It was simply too crowded, this is also due to their access policy. Too many passengers have the right to enter this lounge.

We were sitting all the time in the quiet room, however it wasn’t quiet at all in there. People were speaking loud together or were on the phone all the time.

If you have only 1 or 2 hours to kill on the airport, we would suggest to visit the airports food court and take a small walk after that through the shops.
